MINI-INSTRUCTIONAL:
omoplata transition from far side armbar
While attempting to execute a Far Side Armbar from the rubber guard position, the opponent defends by pushing the leg (being brought over head) to the mat.
Not wanting to have the guard passed, transitioning to the omoplata provides a popular option. Importance needs to be paid to “grabbing opponent’s back”, which which prevents a “front roll” counter.
Once the body has been secured, remember to kick out opponent’s opposite side arm, and position your figure foured knee into a “straight line” pointing off his shoulder.
