basic nogi armbar from the mount

basic nogi armbar from the mount bjj nogi instructionalSecuring a high mount on your opponent, squeeze your knees together to isolate the arms from the rest of the body.  Reaching your hand through opponent’s guard, secure a tight base with your hand tightly placed on opponent’s throat.  Opposite hand should be tightly secured to back of opponent’s elbow. Rotate your body, moving your weight over your own knee making sure to keep your balance.

Point your opposite foot towards your opponent’s head, so when you “lean back” pressure is maintained by your thigh on top of your opponent’s chest. Once you fall back to secure the armbar remember “Thumb to the sky makes him Cry”.

Crossing your feet will naturally force your knees apart, loosening your armbar.  Keep your feet on the floor, and your knees pinched together.
