bbq beatdown returns this time with a little blood
Exciting fights are nothing new to the TMT Full Moon party tradition, but this BBQ set a new standard for action. The first fight of the night featured a grappling match between a pair of BJJ Blue belts from Sweden, Wiktor Svennson and Jonas Brundustun.
These two faced each other last month in the finals of the FBT Grappling games held in BKK where Wiktor was declared the winner on points. Having recently been promoted to blue belt by BJJ Black Belt Tony Eduardo, Wiktor was looking to continue his dominance over Jonas. Jonas caught everyone by surprise when he leaped into the air and forced the tapout 30 seconds into their match via flying armbar submission.
Next up the crowd watched as Canadian Tyler faced Irishman Damion Murphy. Damion fought a hard fought battle before eventually being submitted in the 2nd round via RNC. The main event was reffered by UFC Welterweight phenom Jon Fitch. Featuring Canadian wrestler Jeff Vs. Australian BJJ Blue Belt Jai, the crowd was anxious to see these two heavy weights mix it up.
Showcasing true warrior spirit both of these guys battled through huge punches and exhaustion. Covering the cage with blood the crowd cheered at the end of the fight as Jeff was announced the split decision winner, in a fight that is one of Beatdown BBQ’s all time best. Look for Jeff to make his pro MMA debut next month against fellow heavyweight fighter Michael St. Claire at one of the Muay Thai stadiums in Phuket.
