the morningclass rundown

beginner to intermediate

General structure of the course will follow these guidelines:

9:00-9:15

group warm up

Shall consist of; Jogging around outside of mat, bear crawl, high knee jog, butt-kicking jog, inside side step, outside side step, etc. Upon completion of jogging warm up the student will conduct several fundamental grappling techniques to include; back falls, front rolls, cartwheels, hip escapes, pull-through and such.

9:15-9:30

group stretch

Stretches are to include total body. Class will sit in a circle and will conduct stretches starting with the lower body and working in a progressive manner completing with the upper body. Neck crunches will conclude the stretching exercise, Sets of 50 to include all range of movement.

9:30-10:00

drilling

Technique will be demonstrated by the instructor, observed by the class participants and eventually practiced by the participant for the instructor to witness and provide constructive feedback. Instructional material covered will vary depending on size, skill, and logical flow of the course.

10:00-10:30

cardiovascular endurance and plyometric training

This portion of the class will increase a participants overall fitness, providing them with the tools necessary to achieve their own personal goals. Students will be expected to participate to their full ability, however, drills and exercises may be modified by the instructor for individuals struggling to maintain with the class pace. Workouts will be designed to increase cardio endurance, decrease body fat, and improve overall athleticism.

10:30-11:00

lets roll’

Students will be given adequate time to spar/drill/incorporate the daily lesson. The instructor will pair students into groups and designate timed rounds, allowing individuals to compete in a non-confrontational atmosphere.

mandatory equipment

Students will need to wear appropriate clothing including undergarments, shirt, and shorts (no zipper or ripped clothes). Gi pants may be worn. Finger and Toe Nails need to be trimmed and neatly kept. Individuals will be expected to own a mouth guard. Jock protector and cup are optional.
