Aussie Michael Katsidis shows his toughness despite suffering a controversial split decision to American Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz . In front of a sellout crowd of 18,000 fans Katsidis battled 12 rounds on a hand he broke early in the 3rd. Diaz (33-1, 17KOs) appeared to build an advantage in the middle rounds, with Katsidis (23-2, 20 KOs) finishing strongly. (news Jornal on Diaz bout)

Katsidis suffered a disappointing loss last March against standout Joel Casamayor. Tiger Muay Thai boxing instructor Phathet Sor Thanikul fought Katsidis in Australia in 2005.
